Anyway, a new page has been added to the blog yesterday-- Animal Jam FAQ! The page answers the most common questions I find that are asked around Jamaa, and I will keep updating it. Hopefully, it will help out newer Jammers, and I hope they will find it useful! I know for a fact that I felt very lost on my first day, so I hope to make it easier for all those new to Jamaa right now. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment on the page- you will receive reliable and honest answers so you don't waste your time trying to do a 'cheat' that doesn't even work, or a code that does not exist.

CleverQueen also wants to say that she has a side topic today.

So, there are currently several portals scattered around the lands, that look like this...

Stepping on one will lead you to the Phantom Vortex, an exclusive location only available during the Day of the Phantoms celebrations. It has some pretty funky music too, yes. 

The highlight of the Phantom Vortex is the game you can play in it- Phantoms! It is a game with a pretty simple concept, but it can get quite frustrating and difficult at some points! You need to protect your candy from the light-hating phantoms, by leading them off into the blue parts using your torch.

Once you defeat all the phantoms, you move to the next level. Level 1 has one phantom, Level 2 has two... and I suppose it goes on for a while and stops at a specific number.

The game also awards gems, but the biggest part is the prize that can be earned by completing Level 5!

Every year, there is a different prize up for grabs in this game in October, when the weather cools and the leaves turn into warm shades of brown, red and orange, and that prize is a unique and fun item. It has changed every year so far, and there have been 5 different prizes.

Below are the prizes for the past years, ever since the first prize was awarded in 2010!

2010- Scarecrow

This original, spooky den item based on a tiger gives a spooky feel to any den, and is quite a useful item for trading now. This is not just an excellent decoration for Day of the Phantoms- it is quite useful all year round! You can also decorate those a bit, and it doesn't look out of place in a Summer den. This is a very universal item. 

2011- Tall Phantom Statue

This spooky den item comes in 5 different variations. It is a tall, grey statue of a phantom that can also be seen in Jamaa Township instead of Mira during the Day of the Phantoms celebrations. Around it, is a bright, coloured glow. This item, as I said, comes in 5 different types- each a different colour. They are- Red,Yellow,Green, Blue and Pink. Did you know that by putting two of those directly on top of each other, you can make a new colour? For example, try putting green and blue together on top of each other, and you get a beautiful turquoise! This technique also works for 2013's heavy phantom statues.

2012- Phantom Fountain

Ah, I still remember winning mine. 

This fountain is a great decoration, and can also be used in non-spooky dens. It shows a phantom that appears to be made of metal in a sitting position, with a sword, on a chair. Below that fountain is water flowing down a ... well... cube. It can be quite a soothing den item at times, and compliments many dens well! This also makes spooky dens even more spooky, and looks amazing outdoors anywhere.

It's also a very original item!

2013- Heavy Phantom Statue

Very similar to 2011's tall phantom statue, this item looks great in spooky dens. It is however shorter and wider than the tall phantom statue, but comes in the same 5 colours- blue,green, red, yellow and pink. It is a rather large item, and looks quite nice with the tall phantom statue too. However, it looks just as great alone. A fantastic decoration!

2014- Phantom Scarecrow

Quite similar to 2010's original scarecrow, this is a more spooky version and based on a phantom. It is less universal and more suited to spooky dens, but still looks amazing. It is great for Day of the Phantoms parties, and also gives off an aura of fright. It is quite dark, and very seasonal! 

Unfortunately, I really do apologise but I have to keep the prize and clue for yesterday's prize the same today due to a lack of time. I will update it tomorrow, but it means that you can get yesterday's prize if you missed out : ]

New Candy Hunt!

Hello!  <⎨•◡•⎬>--✶*•・∙
We have two new items today- one is the rare item Monday and another is an addition to the Spooky Party. (^o^)
The rare item Monday item can be found in Jam-Mart clothing, on the 8th page.

Those wings were originally Friendship Festival items, and they do actually look like they are made out of balloons. However... I love the colour, and it's a very good item for making costumes! Have you got your AJ Hallowe'en costume sorted? I haven't yet, but I will do so in the very near future >o<

I haven't got my real life costume sorted either yet, but I'm bound to come up with something :P

The new item at the spooky party is ...

Never was a big fan of this item, but it would compliment a haunted mansion extremely well. I hope there's a non-member item any time soon :O

In celebration of Hallowe'en, I have a candy hunt on the blog. It has been running since yesterday, but I made yesterday's prize very tiny because I haven't officially announced the hunt in a post yet and I wanted to keep it fair.

The picture on the right hand side >>> of the blog will direct you to a page with more details when clicked. 

Now, the hunt works like this.

Every day, a picture of a candy is hidden in a different location on the blog. It can be anywhere- on any page, any post... 

To save you frantically searching every single post on the blog, a clue which helps you to find the candy of the day is published on the page which you can reach by clicking the candy hunt picture >>>.

When you find it, there will be a link which directs you to the prize page!

On a usual day, there are 2 prizes available.

The first is a 'token', and although it might seem puzzling now, I have a bit of advice for you-- save each and every one of those tokens because you will need them!

You can screenshot or download the tokens, whichever works best for you.Also, to keep things fair, the token will change once every two days. 

So, this means that yesterday's token will also be in today's prize, but it will change tomorrow. This hopefully makes it easier to collect them all.

Another piece of advice- if you miss a token, do not give up! Get the rest before it gets worse! :o

The second prize is actually something different, and it can range from a wide variety of things.

For example, yesterday's prize was a random plushie from the plushie stores (tiny, yes, because yesterday was the first day of the hunt and not everyone was aware of it).

Alright, so those are the rules for the candy hunt. Don't forget, to keep it fun- don't comment or tell anyone else where the candy of the day is, and if you don't find the day's candy, don't fret!

Surprising Trades+WootMoo is definitely a hacker

Ouch, I'm quite achy today, and probably will be for a while {(>○<)}

Today we have four spooky new items, which are...

The Spooky table in Outback Imports. Matches the spooky rug well, and I actually like this as a Hallowe'en item!

The Scary Mask in the Spooky Party clothing shop. Another fairly nice item!

The angry Jack-o'-Lantern in Treetop Gardens. Doesn't look too angry to me...

Finally, a skeleton mask in Bahari Bargains! This is quite neat. 

I'm going to give this blog a Hallowe'en make-over, so hopefully that is something to look forward to ^o^

I am also working on some new pages, but for the sake of keeping this blog exciting I won't reveal what they are yet.

As a side topic, rarity of some items has shifted so much over the history of Jamaa, so in this post I'm going to feature pretty much some of the most surprising trades that were perfectly fair not too long ago!

Of course, everyone has varying degrees of knowledge about Animal Jam and I can't guarantee you will be gasping at all of them, but I'm quite sure at least some of those will surprise you ^o^

This was fair in around Summer 2012,and I'm quite sure it remained so a bit earlier and later, too.

This is how I got a long blue spiked wristband in autumn 2012- I traded a silver bow and arrows for it.

More or less a fair trade in Summer 2012.

This was fair, before Viking Hats came back as a rare item Monday.

                                               

I did this in Summer 2013 and they accepted, so I can only assume it  was fair back then O-o

Before the Forgotten Desert, when beards were super rare, this was a perfectly good trade.

There are plenty more trades like this, and I will probably do more at a later date, but I'm a bit too tired to make any more today.

...The part about WootMoo...

When I was taking item pictures for the side topic above, I was in Aldan's Crystal Sands and spotted WootMoo using incredibly bad language.

As you know, it is not possible for an ordinary player to do this. The only way would be to hack the AJHQ systems and disable chat filters, but whatever method-- it has a 99% chance of being illegal.

Anyway, the screenshots are all legit and taken today. I just noticed someone use bad language, clicked the tag and was quite shocked to see WootMoo.

Even more evidence to support the theory he is a hacker.

Eyeball Antenna and Patterns

Seems like new items are slowly declining,but still there.

I'm aware of 3 new items today, here they are...≧◡≦

Eyeball Antenna- found in Jam-mart clothing. This is actually really scary ●∙●

This charming scared pumpkin over in Treetop Gardens. Hmm... I think this should be called Surprised and the actual surprised one should be called 'happy' or 'default' or just plain Jack-O'-lantern.

There is also a Skeleton throne at the Spooky Party, but I didn't take a picture. Hopefully, I will put a picture on here when I get an opportunity to visit the party ^-^

I don't know if there's anything else I want to talk about...

*** I just had the endoscopy, and I feel very... weird O-o

However, as a side topic, I will talk about...

Nice colour scheme ideas for your animals! Well, sorry, I had nothing better. Yes, I did do something similar all the way back in June, but here are some more colour ideas to help express your personality and look good without all those flashy collars and founders' that don't really fit in whatever outfit the person was wearing.

Well, founders' and collars do look quite nice in some cases, but most of the time people just wear them to brag >.>

Unfortunately, I'm sick. *grooooan*
I am also on a clear liquids diet right now because I have an endoscopy tomorrow, but it's actually quite delicious!
Full of jelly and popsicles and clear hard candies... every kid's dream, right?
But there's no nutella, muffins, chocolate... *drool*
Anyway, since it's early October we have multiple items spread out in various-

No, it's already the tenth of October, time is going way too fast. Before I know it, it's going to be November already, and then... then... December VoV
YAY DECEMBER! I'm saying that now, trust me- by the time it's December I will be saying YAY JULY.

There is a tutu over at Bahari Bargains, for an uh... bargain? price of 350 gems.
Not bad, it's cheaper than a candle hat.

I like that pink colour. But if you know me you will know I like all pastel colours. And this tutu just happens to come in a beautiful range of pastel colours *o*

As a somewhat interesting side topic, about an item set that is not very frequently discussed by Jammers. I guess it did have a popularity peak, but even that wasn't very high, especially in comparison to other items. 

The items I'm talking about are...

I don't know where to start O_o

Well, okay. FIRST- 

There are a few names I saw Jammers use to refer to those items... the ones I can name off the top of my head are:

*Glitched sweater/shoes

*Red sweater/shoes

*Beta sweater/shoes

The red variations are based off the original holiday sweater and elf shoes, both released in December 2013 as part of the Jamaaliday daily gifts.

The sweater and shoes both originally came in 7 colours, which is a little unusual since items nowadays usually come in 8 (though not always!).

All the elf shoe colours. Released on the 3rd of December 2013. From left to right- White, black, orange, green, pink, purple, blue.
 The red sweater or shoes did not appear in any of the gifts at first, and I can support this by the fact that when the shoes and sweater were released, I got tons of them on storage accounts and red did not appear once. Besides, if red did appear as a very rare gift (like the neon bow, for instance) then we would have known earlier. When the neon bow was released in December 2012, people started to know about it by January 2013. Anyway...
All was good, until about... well, after the Forgotten Desert was released. I don't know the exact date, but in Summer 2014, sometime in June or July, red elf shoes and sweaters started to pop up. At first, very few people knew, but then glimpses of those elusive items became a bit more common in Aldan and knowledge grew. A little after they were discovered, they were worth about a Founders' hat, maybe a bit more. They had their time of popularity, when people were quite interested in them, but now they kinda faded away again. They became a little more common, and now it just seems like nobody cares about them that much >U< It also looks like they stopped growing in number, too, though O.o
Anyway, when I traded for mine, well... you can look at the exact trade on the Trading Archive page.
They were worth a combination of items like beards, mech angel helmets, moon dirt, rhino helmets, you get the idea- those fancy Forgotten Desert items.
The elf shoes and holiday sweater seem to fall in the same category as;
* grey rare anemone head bows ( origin 2011)
*magenta rare bows (origin 2011)
*neon non-rare bows (origin 2012)

So... here are some theories to finish off this post.
* They were added to the forgotten desert by a hacker, and AJHQ kept them. Jammers started to earn them in the adventure.
*They were added purposefully by AJHQ.
*They were leaked, but AJHQ decided to keep them.
