Hi!

There's finally an underwater item, it's about time...

So sparkly :o Apart from that I find it pretty boring because it's member :c

But I can't complain, there has been a lot of stuff for non-members lately (especially during the Jamaalidays, which I have to catch up on- groaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan)

I don't like trading because when I want a certain item people always run away/lie etc. 

It's so annoying! Finding the actual item is more difficult than actually getting them to accept because people are greedy and want to take advantage of you, making you do an overtrade :c I know it's better to just trade for the item without asking for it but everyone just  has spieakes and founderz on trade :c And in all honesty it's boring, everyone has virtually the same trade lists, I'm not impressed by pixel spiky collars on trade. 

So I have to fish out greedy people instead. Ugh. When an honest person comes along I'm so happy and sometimes give them a little extra for that, being greedy won't get you anywhere! Or at least with me, anyway.

Anyway, rants aside (though there is a rant coming to my YouTube channel today or tomorrow!)

10- Glitched Ring (Summer 2013, briefly sold)

Eww, this is disgusting- enough said. Come on. Wanna wear an eye on your paw? Okay. Go ahead. Don't come to me if you get nightmares though. Everyone knows the story of the Glitched Ring. For those that don't, it was sold in Summer 2013, when the turquoise ring first came out. At the time,there were only two colours- both are now ''rur''. The first one is less known and very hard to distinguish between its very similar cousin. However, this one... oh eww. I bought it when it was first on sale, tried it on, then thought to myself- ''oh, eww. This is ugly. It looks like an eye. Nope.'' then I recycled it. If you want a nice ring, go buy one from Epic Wonders. The colours are much nicer than this freaky thing.

9- Dragon Glove (Monthly Member Gift June 2011- Golden counterpart given in June 2012 <3)

The <3 next to June 2012 is because I have so many good memories from that time. Sorry TuT I should make a post about the whole concept of MMGs. No, a separate page. Yar :3 I don't know! Anyway. I don't like the look of those gloves. They're so weird and bulky and don't really look good :c They look quite cool on crocodiles and on bunnies (but everything looks good on bunnies). Apart from that, not a fan. Sorry glove :c

8- This wonderful selection of store items

They don't have their own slots because there wouldn't be enough space. Anyway, I don't like those- they look so weird DX I forgot to add the mammoth tusks, but you get the idea- some store items are pretty darn weird and ugly. Especially the shoes (shudders)

7- Eyeball Hat

Eww. I don't like this item- it's scary! The 'beta' one especially because of it's freaky colour scheme- how the 'beta' hat came to be is debated, was it sold for a short amount of time? The most commonly believed theory is that it was given by AJHQ to a few select Jammers during Hallowe'en 2010, maybe it was a prize? Back then AJHQ used to visit Jamaa, and sometimes they hosted games/ contests- perhaps that was a prize? Who knows? Anyway, I don't like eyeball hats, in my opinion the order of ugliness is, from most to least...

1.2012-2014 eyeball hats (eww)

2.2010 eyeball hat/beta eyeball hat

3.2011 eyeball hats!

I admit, it's cute & comical when two people wearing those sit together :3

I honestly don't know why someone would want to trade for a 'beta' eyeball hat, apart from to show off/ trade for more stuff :/ Some people like to wear it, and that's fine ^o^

6-  Tiki Mask/ Mask

Meh,I'm not a fan of tiki masks. In 2014, around the time of the eagle adventure, I managed to get my hands on one (I don't have it right now). They're not very attractive and don't really look good with.. well... most outfits, to be honest. If you can find an outfit that this mask looks good with, congrats c:

5- Clown Mask (Hallowe'en)

Oh, what is that even. This is just scary. Who in their right mind would even wear this... thing? Except for Hallowe'en of course. No, just no. The hair, the eyes, the nose, and the DARN MOUTH. I can't stand to look at this anymore. Goodbye.

4- Yeti Face

A pretty strange item, the Yeti Face looks weird o-o There's a glitched version, which is quite similar to the glitched ring if you look at the backstory. It's just not a pretty item (in my opinion). End of story :3

3- Beard

Small, ugly... but in some outfits, it doesn't look THAT bad, but it doesn't stop it from being an ugly item anyway XD

Once extremely rare (the rarest item in the game used to be the orange beard), the beard isn't worth that much now- not even a spiked wristband in some cases.  What used to be fairly weird was when a female player, wearing a feminine outfit, would wear a beard PURELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF SHOWING OFF. It wasn't ALWAYS the case, but when it was- I thought AJ was about expressing YOUR style? Not showing off some pixels? (Rares aren't even THAT difficult to get, as long as you have a few extra hours to spare for going on the computer every day) 

2- Hat & Beard

Cute? Certainly. Pretty? Maybe not so. Great for Christmas, not so beyond. Doesn't look great (in my opinion), but some people manage to find a way to squeeze this item into a good outfit ^o^ 

1- Frankenstein Mask

This... is not beauty. Fab costume, not so fab outfit. As with the Hat & Beard, might be squeezed into an outfit- but otherwise, I don't like this item so much, but it looks cute on bunnies and I like the lightning bolt.

Of course, those are not the only ugly items on Animal Jam. Here are just some items worthy of a mention-

Hello I'm back!

Hello :)
I have at last made the decision to keep posting, simply because this blog needs to be kept alive. For the benefit of the Jamaa Blogging Community, Jammers and myself.

Blogging creates many good memories, and I know that. Blogging opens up opportunities for memorable parties, close friends to have good times with and unforgettable discussions to be had. Blogging doesn't only form memories; it also contains them. Photos and videos of the past, writing style from months ago, my personality, attitude, interests... all of that is contained in blogging to visit again later. I couldn't just leave, especially since I have been going for over 3 months now (wow, time really does fly...). 3 months isn't much in comparison to, say, the AJS (3 years) or the Animal Jam Community (4 years), but usually I would have just started a blog, posted once or twice and then just left it there. Don't believe me? I used to have a LOT of blogs on my old blogger, most of them abandoned with one post. When I keep a blog going, it means something good; that I like it and want to keep it alive. If this blog went, what would I have to look forward to after I finished my homework? Well, okay- I haven't had much time for this blog lately, but I hope I can change that. I don't even have much time to talk with buddies anymore, because it seems like every time they come to talk to me I'm not available. I know that because I have seen a few times a buddy disappear right when I came back, so I know that they have been there trying to talk to me.
This blog benefits the Jamaa blogger community; although I'm working on supporting future bloggers a bit more, my blog can be used as an inspiration. To help others write their own blogs and to expand the Jamaa blogger community.
The Jamaa blogger community is full of blogs, however, many of the blogs out there are now either;
a) Dead. The owners have left the blog, either with or without warning. For example; The Animal Jam Roar. Anyone remember it? I remember reading it on the bus home from school. I liked the style of the owner's posts, not too robotic or boring- rather, more laid-back and casual. Posts were also punctual, but sadly the blog had to end. The blog came to an end on the 25th February 2014 , though sometimes it seems like much  later. The Animal Jam Sky Blog- dead, too... although I wasn't a huge fan of the general subject matter of the posts I greatly admire Scooter's dedication to us and the blog. I know that many, many people loved his posts. Unfortunately, the blog ended on the 8th of August 2014. I know that a lot of blogs died, but I can't think of any right now :I
b) Hardly Up. It's a little hard to describe. Either the original authors are hardly posting anymore, or the posts are constantly delayed by a lot, and when they come, they are extremely rushed, or nobody posts on the blog very often. I guess this blog went through this phase a couple of times, and I don't want it to. An example of this is the Animal Jam Spirit. Highly respected by LOTS of people, though I can't really say I'm a massive fan; the posts nowadays are very... robotic and sound a bit too much like AJHQ. Doesn't the AJHQ language get rubbed into our faces enough? O.o Also, the content isn't very interesting in my opinion- you know, mysteries (that I have to admit I never care about lol), random art, whatever else is on there because these days I'm too lazy to click the 'read more' break. Snowyclaw hardly posts on there anymore (I don't know how busy she is to make a further comment on that) and posts are frequently delayed, though I can't say it's that bad and also I have no idea why I'm saying this when I post slower than a disabled snail. T^T This however is not an essay titled ''What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Animal Jam Spirit Blog? '' so let's move on.
Jammers benefit from blogs because they inform them and can be used for a variety of purposes- educating about scammers and dangers, keeping them interested by sharing material, having news. Jammers love blogs because they are interesting and fun. They are informative. If this blog goes, then Jammers will no longer be able to read my awesome juicy rants. I don't even know what makes rants so pleasurable to read, and does it make me a bad person to find posts about new hackers and suspicious jammers more interesting than posts about scammers *because scammers are more boring and less creepy lol*? I find drama posts entertaining, and I'm definitely not alone.
Jammers will no longer be able to benefit from my amazing [not] tips and advice, and I don't want to hurt anyone by leaving this blog!

Now, let's go on to what discouraged me from posting. Some days, I was about to post. Staring at the screen, the blank blog entry staring right back at me. Then I would sigh, cross off the tab and go back to researching the mythical creature which is the  Importance of the Act of Supremacy or whatnot. Anyway, I was discouraged by things such as the thought of the usual ''Hey Jammers! Today's new item is... [Usually a completely fake opinion about the item because I honestly can't think of anything to say] The video is.... [Insert some way to tell you to watch the video] The activities calendar.... [Something about the boring ol' activities calendar] [Lots of robotic talk which is sometimes even hardly anything that I actually think to conclude the post]
I don't WANT to do that. So, I decided, my posts won't go according to this boring template anymore, whether you like it or not. Because I don't like it, and that means I won't post anymore, which would be bad bad.
My posts will be more laid-back, casual, if I want to post the new video then I will, if I have anything cool to say or any tips to share then I will.

It should make the blog more interesting, not something like the Daily Explorer. Well, okay, the Daily Explorer isn't THAT awfully horrible but honestly, how many times do you just exit the tab after seeing a ''Jammer Snaps'' or ''News Crew'' title that you didn't enter, or some Jammer art you had no idea about or a Creature Feature you don't give a pickle-juice-with-lemon drop about?
Another reason is that I know many of you couldn't care less about the video or daily explorer post or whatever. Trust me, I do it. When I see ''Today's daily explorer post is...'' or ''There's some amazing Jammer art!'' or something I just skip right past it to the juicy parts. Lol. So to save you the trouble, I'm filtering my posts to leave only the juicy bits. You're welcome.

So, here's the part many of you probably have been anticipating. I know that everyone probably knows the new item by now but I want to post it just to everyone knows. I post the daily item because it's for memories, and I know that Meloetta385 has found a way around this on her blog with the archive but I don't think that would fit with this blog very well ;3 And I don't like to copy lol.
Besides, I would be much lazier to do it and keep up with it than writing actual posts themselves.

It's a chest full of gems. I actually like this item because it's a substitute to the Pot o' Gems but unfortunately it's member. But not pricy because you're paying gems for more gems. Don't believe me? There are like 50+ individual gem pictures in that chest and when I hover over my gem icon, it shows like 5 gems and the number 60,700 (or something like that). So eh.. I guess that chest much be teeming with riches. It would look good in maybe a Pirate-inspired den or something. Or a treasure den. Or an ordinary den. Or a spoiled pink fox's wearing too much Epic Wonders who talks like a drunk 4 year old's den which can't really happen because 4 year olds can't get drunk.

Got to give credit to merie11 for this awesome beanbag world, it's so colourful and beanbagg-y and everything. It's also a water park so you can SLIDE and SWIM!!

Of course, the dude that looks suspiciously like Fman122 (lol) had to ruin it with his ''Need'' Female campaign. 

Finally, just to make you LOL a little (I hope).

If I wasn't trying to do an actually decent essay for History then I would actually write it like this. I lie a lot in essays because it gets me real good grades. If I was honest, I would write this :3

Earthquakes... hmm; what do I know? Meh,I'm no expert but my brainstorm would be: tectonic plate movement. Impact on society and government. Economic effects. Environmental factors affecting severity. Other stuff I don't want to bore you with. Yup. Definitely did something on earthquakes in Geography last academic year, but I think it was kind of merged with the volcano unit o.e

Ranting time- seriously helps me get all those annoying things off my chest.

RUDE. Listen now, not everyone can afford to get a membership, and not everyone has parents that support the idea. Non-members are also people, no different. Why just members? Non-members can be cool, too. It's really stuck-up to do members-only parties, as paying $4 a month doesn't automatically make you 'cooler' or better. We are still people! Memberships don't alter your genetic make-up, do they?

It *basically* looks like the person saying this got into a fight/argument with someone and then they got all upset so... they said this *_*

It doesn't look like role-play, and as I said in my rant on Wednesday; you don't want to lie about not having parents. Okay, maybe you might not have parents, but THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT ALRIGHT FOR YOU TO BRING IT UP ON A GAME FOR KIDS! Hello, 4-10 year olds are all over the place. Some of them don't want to hear about others' dramatic lives or whatever. 

The reason I assume this is attention seeking;

*They are talking about how tough their life is and everything. Doesn't bringing it up make it worse? If you try to stop thinking about it for a while, that makes it better at least temporarily.

*They are in a crowded place- if they didn't want attention they would be saying that in a locked den or something.

*I met a lot of buddies with tough lives and they only talked about it in locked dens and quiet places. They didn't suddenly talk about it in the middle of a huge crowd -_-

THIS IS A GAME FOR KIDS! KIDS!

You are not supposed to be dating on AJ, because... well, it says in the rules -_-

If AJHQ wanted dating on the game, they wouldn't say it's forbidden in the rules, would they?

Why is dating on AJ wrong? Because, kids are everywhere. Fairy is a kid herself. Dating is deemed inappropriate for kids because it can be dangerous. It can lead to drama and arguments kids aren't ready for coping with yet. Kids can be manipulated through dating, especially if one partner is older than the other. Dating is like a door to the wider world kids are not ready for just yet, and it exposes them to things they are not ready for. ENOUGH SAID- it ruins childhoods!

AJ dating can be dangerous- the 'boy' that comes up with you could be a 68 year old man who tried to lure you into things like real-life meetings.

Just don't do it, okay?!

Every time a plushie is sold, a new plushie is put in its place- I try to keep the den full at all times. I'm thinking of creating more special plushie stores soon, and more regular stores should come soon too! Then, maybe I might make 'bunny-only' stores, and so forth cx

Just to clarify, I'm not going to rant every day O_O

There's just something annoying I want to speak up about in today's post, and that thing is...

ATTENTION SEEKING.

It's everywhere!

People sleeping in the middle of a crowded land wanting attention, and that's really annoying. Not to mention, really ungrateful >.>

Now, do you really want to have no parents?

Do you really want to be in hospital with a life-threatening fever?

Well, okay, I'm going to be fair. People role-play about those things, and I guess that's fine to an extent since it gives characters more developed stories and stuff. 

But what ISN'T fine, is when people say things like;

''Plz send me rares i have no parents''

Uh, that's no reason for us to give our pixel-items to you. Besides, how will rares help you? :/

Sure, they might make you happy for a while but not happy enough to overcome being that sad :L

''donate plz im in hospital with a rare illness''

Okay, that just makes no sense. Pixels can't cure your illness :/ It's no fun to be in hospital with a rare illness, because you don't know what's going on and if you're ever going to be normal. How can you use something like that to get attention, I don't know O_O

''my mom broke her leg and idk if she's gonna make it plz donate''

Most stupid thing EVER. First, can you even die from a broken leg? The leg alone, no O_O 

Next, pixels won't help.

Finally, WHY AREN'T YOU WITH YOUR MOM LIKE RIGHT NOW? *O*

I just hate attention seekers. Okay, when you're role-playing you can make up all sorts of crazy stories about your character. Even though some RP attention seeking annoys me too :P

For instance, in schools everyone is suddenly the good kid that does everything perfectly and yada yada yada >:O

And when trying to get a virtual family everyone is a homeless abandoned cute magical rare whatever baby. XD

What isn't fine though, is when people lie about their real lives. To get attention.

They should be grateful they have a home, safe water, food and a computer, really. They should.

However, they lie about not having those things just to get attention!

What else I don't like is when people think that me saying ' rares are just pixels' automatically translates to 'everyone I don't care about rares I don't even care they exist everything I have is free just ask for it'

I got my rares for a reason- just because I'm not obsessed with them doesn't mean they are free! I still like them and they aren't free >:o

First of all, one of my plushie stores, GreenDreams, got hacked O_O
I don't know how, the password isn't too easy to guess but not too hard, either. I suppose somebody just guessed it :L
Thankfully, nothing is gone BUT the look of my seal was changed (I changed it back) and I found some Jamagrams saying 'You're mean!'. :(
So... the hacker most likely reads the Animal Jam Rainbow and is intent on ruining my reputation.
What I think happened is that they guessed the password (I changed it now, because it wasn't a very good password)  and then they started being rude to people. I just hope they didn't say who I am ;-;
If you were recently bullied by GreenDreams, please be aware that it was not me.
I changed the password now, so hopefully this won't happen in the future :D
Anyway, today's new item adds on to the ice-cream parlour collection;

Time for a bit of ranting!

MAILTIME.

Just to clarify, real mailtimes do exist. They are often done on YouTube where fans willingly

send mail and stuff to whoever they admire and then, if there is enough mail, all of it is opened on camera. I suppose the fun part is seeing what kind of mail someone gets, or seeing their reaction to your mail, or getting a little famous :P

Anyway, this whole mailtime craze on Animal Jam was started by Julian2, probably one of the most famous Jammers out there UoU

Basically, Julian2's fans started sending him Jamagrams and gifts, and then it kinda evolved into something where people sent gifts (sometimes really good rares, and videos with those became really popular) to see them being opened on camera.

Pretty harmless,right? :T

Nope. Not so fast.

Even Julian's original mailtime is flawed. 

Here's why. (BECAUSE I'M HAAAAAAAPPPYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!)

✺ Julian discards most gifts without even looking at the message. It's the thought that's meant to count, but to me it seems like Julian eventually only cares about rare gifts. In some videos, he didn't even respond to the message and discarded a LOT of gifts. Okay, the discarding part I understand- inventory's full. ✺ He over-reacts I-I  Come on, the reaction I would give to a founders' hat in my mail is  less extreme than the reaction Julian gave to a spiked wristband. Basically, of course Julian's happy but some of those reactions are a bit over the top- it's just PIXELS. :O

✺ Mailtime is now just pointless- it's more for the gifts than the words of kindness, and that kind of just makes mailtime pointless. Not to mention the endless 'ADD ME' 'BUDDY ME' Jamagrams.

A lot of people now just use mailtime to beg for rares, and most don't even make videos.

Summer isn't over just yet!

Hello!
Today's rare item Monday, which I'm going to admit isn't exactly the most exciting day of the week ;3;
Anyway, today's rare item can be found on the 5th page of the Jam-mart clothing- the rare sun visor! O-o

At least it isn't the rare round glasses or something, to remind us that Summer is ending soon :c

This rare pretty much keeps the Summer spirit up, because we are still more than a month away from autumn! 

There's also a new item to add to the ice cream parlour items;

I have seen that some Jammers started school today, wow o_O

And I still didn't go on vacation yet! cx

Don't worry, it isn't autumn until September.

Animal Jam is not JUST about rares- it's about other things too! Sure, rares are fun to have. It's fun to collect items. But rares were never meant to be the main focus of the game, they were just supposed to be part of a fun pastime! I'm quite sure AJHQ didn't intend us to spend all of our Animal Jam time sitting there trading for bigger and bigger rares, getting involved in all sorts of drama and hacks. Rares are the reason behind lots of Jammers quitting, behind some Jammers being upset and of course the reason of some hacks. I think some items were generated because the Forgotten Desert came out and there were no longer any 'real' rares, so the 'Reward Plaque', beta blue vines and many more were born. Of course, that's what I think. I could be far from the truth, or dangerously close to it. Rares obviously took AJ by storm- in every single server you will find at least one Jammer looking for trades. Trading isn't evil; it's the very system I use to complete collections and earn fun new items for outfits. But then there is a way to abuse the trading system; scamming. Rares became coveted for some reason- perhaps the social respect earned by having them or a desire to look 'cool'. Hence, Jammers went greater and greater lengths to get them; eventually even resulting in illegal hacks! If you think about it though, rares are no more than clothing or furniture items on a virtual game. It doesn't take much skill to get them, and you can still compose some pretty darn good looking outfits using smaller items. For example- try my bunny's outfit but in different colours. All it takes is a tiara, lollipop necklace, old blanket and a glove. 

Or, chill out in Crystal Sands with this easy to get Summer themed outfit!

All it takes is tickets from the Summer Carnival to buy a sun hat, a lei and freedom bands/ leaf leg armour.

Don't forget, it's not difficult to make this awesome outfit too!

There, a necklace, a fox hat, a worn blanket and a glove.

Some of those look MUCH better than just piling rares on your animals ^-^
